Description
A regional MC2D survey of 6770 line km was acquired in 2006. The deep water area offshore Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean covers more than 50 000 sq. km and offers a great variety of hydrocarbon plays; The East Cyprus Arc, the Levantine Basin, the Eratosthenes Bank (carbonate platforms and tilted fault blocks), the West Eratosthenes Basin, the Herodotus Basin, the low-stand Messinian Nile Delta and the Plio-Pleistocene Deep Nile Delta Fan.
The area is divided into 13 exploration blocks. One block was awarded to Noble Energy in the First License Round in 2007. The Second license Round will be announced in 2009.
