MC2D - CYP2006

The 1st licensing round offshore Cyprus presentation was held in London on November 20th. Approximately 100 people from 60 oil companies, representing countries such as Norway, India, China, USA, Russia and the UK, participated in the event. “We’re happy to see the great interest in this licensing round,” says Mark Spencer Jones, Business Development Manager Middle East & CIS.

The license round starts February 15 and finishes on August 16, 2007. The area consists of 70,000 square kms and has potentially 12 blocks. PGS Data Processing has revealed some interesting features in one particular structure, the Eratosthenes (see section). This structure is approximately 90 km/100 km.

The licensing round is based on the PGS MC2D acquisition which involved approximately 6770 line-km’s of MC2D seismic data covering an area of 70,000 km2 over the Eratosthenes structure, Levant Basin, and the prolific Nile Delta.
