Processing Solutions
At PGS we understand the varying need of our industry to provide a flexible approach to seismic data processing. PGS has a long history of providing processing solutions to many clients in many diverse locations. Based on a heritage of innovation and delivery, we are able to address any specific processing need from a computer hardware, IT, software, engineering or maintenance perspective. Processing solutions have been deployed to provide anything between local data QC facilities, through to the complete installation of a mainstream processing centre.
The fact that our complete processing and visualisation software runs in the Linux environment has provided a new degree of flexibility, providing the current array of opportunities.
Local QC
Using nothing more than a Pentium 4 desktop we can provide a solution to QC data anywhere in the world. If bandwidth of connectivity is sufficient, a solution can be provided to participate in real-time processing QC and acquisition QC from any one of PGS’ seismic fleet. As with all PGS solutions and products, the holoSeisTM 3D visualisation technology is available.
In-field processing
The commitment by PGS to provide offshore processing services is well known in the industry. PGS continues to provide fast-track and/or full processing services on all PGS vessels, and new ‘Blade-centre style’ computers allow enhanced processing solutions such as SRME and pre-stack migration within the timeframe of the acquisition project. Less well known is our ability to provide processing solutions for fixed geometry acquisition projects, and sophisticated solutions are available to complete the critical front-end processing of OBC ("seafloor") and land data during the acquisition operations.

Dedicated alliances
A successful model enjoyed by a number of companies is the dedicated alliance concept in which dedicated resources are devoted to a particular client office or area. This allows the creation of an expert project team who are familiar with the exploration and development requirements of the associated business unit. Peak demand capability ensures that data is delivered within business requirement timeframes without questioning data quality. In addition, technology may be developed by PGS to address specific geophysical challenges.
In-house services
Where a high degree of interaction is required between PGS geophysicists and our client's technicians, an inhouse model can be deployed. Recent processing installations have been deployed and operational within one month and innovative data transfer techniques ensure that communications with critical path components are first rate.
Hosting
PGS has extensive computer engineering knowledge which can be employed by companies who have a specific computing solution and hardware requirement. The expense of creating and maintaining a computer environment can be alleviated by using existing PGS infrastructure to host the computing solution remotely.
Full processing solutionS
PGS is a full service provider in seismic data processing. Our proprietary CubeManagerTM processing software has been developed over the past 20 years to fully harness the capability of parallel computing architecture and has been a pioneer in the massive growth of 3D seismic processing. Recent developments have created an efficient and user-friendly environment that capitalises on interactive tools and integrated visualisation technologies such as holoSeisTM.
Leading software combined with our computer engineering knowledge and expertise in project management, places PGS in a strong position to provide full processing solutions to cover any business need. Solutions have been deployed in many locations around the world, including a vast variety of staffing and training models.
HD3DTM Processing
To complement the PGS HD3D data products, an array of sophisticated "true" 3D processing technologies are required to optimize the removal of noise and multiples, and to preserve maximum frequency bandwidth, signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, resolution, and spatial continuity. PGS develops dedicated technologies for HD3D processing, complemented by acquisition and processing QC technologies, and the holoSeisTM visualization system on portable desktop platforms.
