Management of HSE&Q

To succeed and accomplish our goals we need commitment at all levels, competent staff and management systems plus tools which reflect industry standards, requirements and focus.

PGS has a management system based on acknowledged and international industry standards such as ISO 9000:2000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000. The corporate level of this management system defines corporate expectations and system requirements which are to be met by our three business units and their subcontractors.

Our Management system reflects our business processes and is designed as an improvement process which supports the development of our company. Our corporate HSE&Q function initiates an annual planning, monitoring and appraisal process which is concluded by the annual management review. The Management review, together with customer and stakeholder feedback, provides important input to the coming year's planning process.

PGS aims to be in the forefront by using updated theory, competent staff, best practice and the best technology available. In order to succeed we expect our staff to be the main drivers of this process.

Planning and performance monitoring

PGS has developed annual HSE&Q plans in accordance with the following logic:

Level 1: Corporate plan
Level 2: Business unit
Level 3: Operational level within the business unit

Performance indicators are a part of the plan and are monitored on a monthly and annual basis.

HSE&Q forum for learning and experience transfer

PGS has established a HSE&Q Forum were cross divisional learning and experience transfer take place. This Forum has an annual plan and five meetings per year.

The forum assists in our effort to ensure coordinated development within the company and utilization of competence and practices that can be shared with success.

Our latest developments and focus

PGS is currently pursuing implementation of new tools and techniques for management of process mapping and Emergency Preparedness by use of new and available IT technology. The new development will set us in the forefront within these areas and are expected to simplify and rationalize our business.

Our future –a strategic outlook

To be able to manage and control our future opportunities, PGS has developed a strategic based outlook which helps us to set focus on the most important and future opportunities and limitations. The strategic outlook is being updated on an annual basis.

Research and technology

PGS has a technological research environment which constantly investigates how technology may be developed to simplify or improve our business. We see this as a competitive edge and will continue to work to improve.

The technology center works closely together with the operational environment in order to maximize the effect of initiatives. One example of this is our recent development of solid streamer technology, where fluid in the streamers has been replaced with solid streamers.
