Deep Water Petrophysical Atlas - Gulf of Mexico
The deepwater area of the Gulf of Mexico is arguably the most challenging area to explore and operate within. The financial stakes are high and the odds of making commercial discoveries are low. With so little well information available, there is little room for overlooking important key information. Integrated multi-disciplinary teams are also being challenged at integrating scattered information from a variety of data sources.

Based on increasing market demand for petrophysical studies on numerous deepwater tracts, PGS has developed the Deepwater Petrophysical Atlas.
Our goal has been to produce a petrophysical atlas that integrates all available well data for 200 key wells in the eastern half of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. This atlas incorporates all available information and integrates the numerous methods, techniques and models that PGS has developed from its experiences in the deepwater area.
Each log plot shows an integrated view of all the acquired, analysed and interpreted data for each of the key wells.
Each log plot shows the following information:
Geological
- Raw Log Data
- Volumetric Analysis
Reservoir / Pay Characterisation
- Biostratigraphy
- Standardised Biostratigraphic
- Tops
- Abundance and Diversity Data for Nannos and Forams
Standardised Ecologic Zonation
Engineering
- Formation Pressure Analysis
- Rock Mechanical Properties
Geophysical
- Rock Properties
- Full Well Velocity and Density
- Functions
- Synthetic Seismic Trace
