PGS is universally known for many innovations in 3D seismic acquisition and processing, having led the growth in 3D seismic around world. PGS has established every streamer towing and handling record, and is currently the only seismic company capable of towing more than 12 full length streamers efficiently.  To date the record stands at 16 streamers, set back in 2001.  At the heart of PGS' unmatched efficiency lies the Ramform vessel design, unquestionably the most innovative and recognisable seismic vessel in the world.

The Ramform's massive delta-shaped hull enables 20 streamer reels to be safely distributed across the back deck, supported by advanced streamer handling and towing systems.

Backed by leading-edge seismic modeling, visualization, and QC technologies, PGS is able to harness the extensive resources of its global network of seismic data processing centers and technologies to meet any 3D seismic challenge.

PGS maintains dedicated research and development programs, continually seeking to improve its diverse array of data products and services.

One of the notable developments in recent years has been the PGS High-Density 3D (HD3D) suite of premium data products, which have combined the ultimate acquisition and processing technologies.  HD3D will deliver the highest resolution, highest quality 3D data product to address almost all problems and challenges, both related to exploration and time-lapse reservoir monitoring ("4D").

PGS delivers the best seismic product (HD3D data) in all environments with superior efficiency and reliability as a direct result of ongoing research and engineering efforts.  Furthermore, PGS intends to grow and consolidate its HD3D strengths by developing new technologies that improve efficiencies and that further exploit the potential value of properly sampled seismic data.

HD3Ddelivers optimum seismic image quality and resolution, virtually free of processing artifacts. HD3Ddata products address an entire spectrum of seismic exploration, production, and time-lapse (4D) reservoir monitoring challenges.

Time slice from the East Java HD3D survey at a very shallow 0.15 seconds two-way time (TWT).  Resolution and quality of the complex meandering channel system is excellent.  Horizontal scaleยป15 km.  This outstanding data quality was the result of a comprehensive pre-survey planning exercise by PGS, which identified the solution to a location historically affected by poor resolution and extremely noisy data.
