THE PGS advantage

Our highly experienced personnel combined with state of the art seismic recording equipment allow PGS to deploy more channels per crew than our competitors. We offer traditional and HD3D® acquisition services providing the highest data quality and acquisition efficiency.  Our dedicated 3D design staff ensures we use optimal 3D survey designs to provide A Clearer Image to our clients.

Geographical Presence

PGS has proven capabilities operating seismic crews in every terrain with a commitment to HSE:

Desert:
PGS has extensive experience operating in severe desert conditions in the Middle East and North Africa.  Our high channel count crews are setting standards for productivity and data quality throughout the region.  Cooperation with local and national agencies ensure we can maintain high productivity even when working in archaeologically significant areas.

Arctic:
PGS’ investment in co-developing light footprint, specialized camp facilities and fully rubber tracked vehicles,  enables us to perform state-of-the-art seismic acquisition with high efficiency in this environmentally sensitive terrain.  Our commitment to the environment has been recognized by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).  DNR states that our operations result in the least tundra impact (effectively none) ever observed.  Our highly specialized HD3D® arctic crew is known as one of the highest production crews in this market. Our Arctic HD3D® crew acquired over 129,000 vps in 94 days, producing a 505 square mile 3D survey with over 500,000 traces per square mile.

Mountain, Jungle & Swamp:
PGS’ ability to safely and efficiently manage the logistics of high man-power crews enables us to bring our HD3D® technology to these traditionally challenging environments worldwide.  Flexible transport options, including heli-portable, airboat, and small craft capabilities, make data acquisition possible even in the most inaccessible areas.

Highland:
PGS operates the industry’s largest channel count crews, some in excess of 15,000 channels.  This high channel count capability allows us to efficiently acquire extreme high density surveys with longer offsets and wider azimuths than our competitors.  It also provides great flexibility in survey design which can maintain HD3D® data quality standards in areas with high seismic source costs.

Transition Zone:

PGS transition zone capabilities include “light tackle” shallow marine, and transition zone surveys to enable our clients to effectively record continuous data sets from onshore out to operational streamer depths.  Our international operations employ the industry’s finest proprietary and vendor supplied acquisition equipment.  As with all PGS’ operations every effort is made to minimize environmental impact.
