The PGS' Gulf of Mexico Geoscience Project was established to provide support for PGS' extensive multi-client business activities including Emc3D (Enhanced Multi-Client 3D).
The team's responsibilities have included:
- Developing integrated 3D salt models in areas of current acquisition
- Helping guide velocity picking
- Developing value-added Products to help PGS clients and save their time
- Evaluating and working with various new technologies
Scope of GOM Multi-client Products Available
The majority of our products fall into two categories: those related to individual 3D seismic surveys and those that are of a regional nature.
Coherence Cube™
PGS and Coherence Technology Company (CTC) are pleased to offer a Coherence CubeTM in the JEBCO Mustang Island Phase 4 Survey area.
Multi-component Seismic
In 1998 PGS acquired multi-component data (P and converted waves) at 18 locations in the deep Gulf of Mexico. Acquisition was with a specialized "dragged array" system and PGS is the only company that can acquire P and converted wave significantly beyond the shelf edge.
Sand Prediction, Offshore Texas (SPOT)
This project provides a regional stratigraphic framework consisting of 16 mapping horizons. The study predicts the presence and distribution of sand in Miocene slope and basin floor environments on the basis of 168 wells and interpretation of a sub-regional 2-D seismic grid.
FIT Study
A study that defines the liquids potential of the Texas offshore areas based on both wildcat and producing wells could have great value in helping assess exploration potential and assign appropriate bid economics to prospective blocks.
Petrophysical Atlas
Based on increasing market demand for petrophysical studies on numerous deepwater tracts, PGS is developing the Deepwater Petrophysical Atlas.
GOM Atlas
This Atlas provides the "quick answers" to "key questions" concerning oil and gas exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico.
GOM Maps
PGS Reservoir provides companies custom designed maps or you may license one of our multi-client maps such as our award-winning "Lease Operators Map of the Gulf of Mexico."
