Rune O. Pedersen (1970)
President & CEO
Rune Pedersen joined PGS in October 2010. He became President and CEO in 2017. His previous responsibilities at PGS combined the role of General Counsel and head of our legal team, with leading the communication, strategic customer relations, marketing, and corporate development functions. Prior to joining PGS, Rune served for four years as a partner in the law firm Arntzen de Besche, specializing in oil and gas, and before that he worked as an attorney and associate in the same firm. He started his career as a junior research fellow at the University of Oslo and has served as a deputy judge in a District Court of Norway. Rune has a law degree from the University of Oslo, a post-graduate diploma in European competition law from Kings College London, and an MBA from London Business School.
Gottfred Langseth (1966)
Executive Vice President and CFO
Gottfred Langseth joined PGS in November 2003 and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2004. Before joining PGS, he was the chief financial officer at the information technology company Ementor ASA, and the senior vice president for finance and control at the offshore construction company Aker Maritime ASA. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in Norway in 1991, qualifying as a Norwegian state authorized public accountant in 1993. Gottfred holds an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics.
Sverre Strandenes (1956)
Executive Vice President Sales & Services
Sverre Strandenes joined PGS in 1995. He was appointed EVP Sales & Services in 2018. Sverre has served in key senior management roles within PGS in technology, research, data processing, marketing, sales, and general management. Prior to joining PGS, he spent 14 years at Norsk Hydro, where held various management positions and was latterly head of Norsk Hydro Research Centre. Sverre Strandenes is currently chairman of the board of directors at NORSAR and a non-executive director of Azimuth Ltd. Sverre graduated M.Sc Geophysics from the University of Bergen in 1981.
Per Arild Reksnes (1957)
Executive Vice President Operations & Technology
Per Arild Reksnes joined PGS in 2001. He assumed his current position in 2018. Per Arild has been a member of the executive management team since 2010 with spheres of responsibility including operations, new ventures, and marine contract. He has served as business unit president for Europe, Africa, Middle East and CIS, and held senior roles within technology, profiling and marketing, and separately technical marketing. Prior to his employment in PGS, he worked for Norsk Hydro for 16 years in both geophysical and management positions. Per Arild holds an M.Sc. Applied Geophysics from the University of Oslo, and an MSc. Technology Management from Massachusettes Institute of Technology / NTNU.
