Congo Shelf: Peu Profonde New MultiClient 3D Acquisition
We are planning a new survey over the shallow water shelf area which will provide extensive coverage over this prospective and productive region. The survey is designed to unlock plays and prospects not yet observed in the existing data, specifically targeting the presalt.
PGS has consulted with industry and undertaken extensive modeling in the planning phase of this survey. We will acquire approximately 6 400 sq. km of data (subject to commitment) using a Simultaneous Long Offset (SLO) technique to obtain 7 km offset data over the shelf area.
Once the current deep water licensing round closes and awards are announced, PGS expects the Congo Shelf License Round to open. This new 3D GeoStreamer® survey will cover around 2 100 sq. km of open acreage, including blocks to be offered in the shelf round. The new data will provide companies with the latest broadband seismic in an area that is proven to be very prospective across a variety of play types.
