Namibia | Acquisition Complete in Southern Namibe Basin

We’ve added the first 3D GeoStreamer data in Namibia to our library in the southern Namibe Basin. First data is due in Q3, 2020.

Seismic acquisition, including gravity and magnetic data, of almost 9 000 sq. km in blocks 1710, 1711, 1810 & 1811A was undertaken from late 2019 to early 2020 using GeoStreamer 3D broadband technology.

With water depths ranging from 1 000 – 3 500 m, prospects in the area are analogous to those prolific in the South American conjugate margin, displaying both syn-rift and post-rift structures. Detailed structural imaging and AVO compliant products will enable the more confident identification and mapping of prospects, significantly de-risking exploration in this deepwater frontier area.

GeoStreamer technology brings reliable and true broadband imaging to the southern part of the Namibe basin for the first time.
