Maiza Bekara proposes a new methodology to estimate a mixed phase wavelet from seismic data with no a priori assumption on the phase or use of well-log information using higher order statistics. The two contributions of the paper are 1. A simplified modeling of the wavelet estimation problem that results in the estimation of a phase-only wavelet which is constrained in time, and 2. Estimation of phase-only wavelet from normalized bispectrum without the need for phase unwrapping.
