High quality dataset over Block 16 supports further exploration of the proven hydrocarbon system of Lower Congo Basin. Significant potential remains in a relatively under explored offshore area which is surrounded by numerous oil and gas discoveries.
Data quality is high and designed to expand understanding of the geological framework and hydrocarbon potential of Block 16. It also adds a new dimension to knowledge already gained from producing fields in Block 15 to the north, and Block 17 to the south.
Multi-sensor acquisition and PSDM processing give excellent data quality, characteristically rich in frequency content. The dataset provides subsurface images of greater clarity, accuracy and reliability to reduce risk in exploration.
