This modern seismic data is essential for further exploration in the Durban Basin. Numerous untested leads and prospects have been identified in the pre-Cretaceous, Lower Cretaceous, Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary sequences.
Play types include deepwater marine sandstones, submarine and basin floor fans, turbidites and sand-filled channel systems of Cretaceous-Tertiary age. Syn-rift fluvial and shallow marine sandstones of Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous and Lower Cretaceous also on-lap flanks of tilted fault-blocks.
Advanced imaging techniques reduce uncertainty of prospects and leads by using GeoStreamer multi-sensor data which is rich in reliable low-frequency information, and deghosted by separating the recorded wavefields.
