The acreage covered in this survey includes various play fairways within the syn-rift and post-rift sections. The petroleum systems are similar to the proven producing petroleum systems along this margin of West Africa. Six wells have been drilled in off shore Togo.
Source rocks in three potential formations: Devonian, Lower Cretaceous and Upper Cretaceous, similar to the source systems to the west in Ghana and the Côte d’Ivoire. Potential reservoirs lie in the Lower Cretaceous and Upper Cretaceous, the seismic indicates potential in the deep-water Tertiary.
