Malampaya 3D

2 009 sq km of high quality seismic data coverage in the NW Palawan Basin, offshore Philippines
Website Map for Survey Malampaya MC3D
The NW Palawan MC3D survey with a total areal coverage of 897 sq km was acquired in 1996 and the Malampaya High Definition (HD) MC3D survey with a total areal coverage of 1 112 sq km was acquired in 2002.
The main play is the Miocene Nido limestone (ie. Malampaya - Camago Field). There is also the younger submarine sands of the Pagasa and the Galoc FM (Galoc Field). More recently the industry is turning to the pre-Nido for potential new play openers.
Both surveys have been merged (post migration) to provide a single 3D data volume. The 897 sq km survey was reprocessed in 2008 to provide a total of 2 009 sq km of contiguous pre stack time migrated 3D seismic data coverage.
