East Indonesia - Indonesia - 2007
South Kamrau 2D
The survey area covers the western edge of the Arafura Platform and extends into the Aru Basin

The South Kamrau area is considered a frontier exploration area with only 2 wells drilled offshore in the 1970’s.
The area lies in a very complex geologic setting where the Australian plate subducts under the Asian plate. Complex overthrusts can be seen overriding the Australian plate. The main play is in the large anticlines/fault bounded closures containing both Miocene carbonate and clastics.
The 1 612 line km acquired with a 6 km streamer was merged and matched to the GeoStreamer data before being incorporated into the Abadi-Aru-Arafura MegaProject.
