Herodotus Basin - Cyprus - 2013
CYP Blk 11 3D
Essential for offshore exploration and prospecting in Block 11

Designed to identify exploration well locations, this survey is essential for prospecting in Block 11. Located at the intersection of the Eratosthenes Seamount with the Herodotus and Levant Basins, it provides insight into the broader geological development in the eastern Mediterranean.
Stratigraphic closures and potential traps within Miocene sedimentary sub-salt strata provide direct analogues to the nearby Aphrodite discovery. A secondary target in the Cretaceous carbonate/basement structures offers additional potential and is analogous to the nearby Zohr discovery.
This modern 3D survey with bandwidth-optimized imaging provides 3D visualization of structures and settings already seen in regional 2D data. Acquired in cooperation with the Cypriot Ministry of Energy, the survey is an invaluable tool for improving regional knowledge and understanding.
