Herodotus Basin - West Egypt Shelf - Egypt - 2016
New 2D GeoStreamer coverage essential for the upcoming license round
The 2D seismic survey grid covers a frontier area of more than 80 000 sq. km.
Potential play types: An extension of Pliocene sandstones from the prolific Nile Delta province; pre-salt carbonate build ups with similar seismic characteristics as the Zohr discovery; and an extension of the onshore Western Desert proven Jurassic/Cretaceous oil and gas play into the shelf area.
GeoStreamer acquisition provides broadband data rich in both low and high-frequency information that can be reliably used for structural interpretation and rock property analysis. PSDM products will be available for accurate imaging of sub-salt reservoir targets.
