2D legacy data reprocessed in 2014

Existing legacy data containing important well tie information have been reprocessed and matched to the new PGS acquisition. The resulting data grid provides further insight into Greece’s offshore geological setting.
A petroleum system is confirmed by the Katakolon and other oil discoveries in Albania and Italy. Identified traps are sub-thrusts, salt related and stratigraphic. The source rocks include Triassic evaporates and Jurassic-Cretaceous shales. Reservoirs consist of clastic and carbonate strata.
New imaging technology offers an improved version of vintage data sets. The new prestack time migration provides updated understanding of the hydrocarbon potential of offshore Greece.
