Levantine Basin - Lebanon - 2006-2013
LEBANON MegaSurveyPlus
Essential 3D coverage for prospecting in Lebanon’s offshore exploration blocks

This 10 000 sq. km PSDM cube covers unlicensed acreage and is key to understanding the petroleum system and evaluating potential prospects in the Levantine Basin.
Several potential play types have been defined, including elongated 4-way closing sub-salt structures with Miocene sandstone reservoirs of distant Nile Delta sediments and stratigraphic traps. The Levant Margin to the east of the survey is known to consist of oil-prone Mesozoic carbonate reef plays.
Acquired in cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry, the high-quality surveys provide crucial seismic clarity in a frontier region that to-date has no well information. Optimal quality has been ensured by industry-leading PSDM processing, to produce superior imaging of sub-Messinian salt structures.
