3D seismic survey in the western part of the offshore area following up on regional 2D in order to further assess prospectivity across Egypt's west Mediterranean offshore.
The survey covers the offshore extension of the onshore Western Desert and associated plays. The deeper water parts of the survey fall within the Herodotus Basin and include some thick salt. In this area targets are likely to be presalt structures and possibly pinch-outs against the shelf.
GeoStreamer acquisition provides broadband data rich in both low and high-frequency information that can be reliably used for structural interpretation and rock property analysis. PSDM products will be available for accurate imaging of subsalt reservoir targets.
