Explore the sub- and supra-salt hydrocarbon potential of the frontier Mid North Sea High
Covering the frontier western periphery of the mature gas province of the Southern Permian Basin, this survey targets existing large discoveries (e.g. Breagh), and provides a tool to better understand the regional structural framework.
The main petroleum system is characterized by a Carboniferous source rock and individual Carboniferous to Lower Permian fluvio-deltaic reservoir sandstones, sealed by Zechstein evaporites. Additional post-salt discoveries are situated in Triassic sandstones, typically onlapping on Zechstein diapirs.
This regional GeoStreamer data is an excellent platform to characterise the existing fields and to further explore the sub- and supra-salt hydrocarbon potential of the frontier Mid North Sea High. These include large Carboniferous anticlines and fault blocks and an inferred Permian carbonate play.
