This geological province contains mapped basins with up to 10km of pre-rift sediments

Possibly Paleozoic to Mesozoic age sediments buried in offshore basins containing reservoirs similar to those along the Norway/Ireland conjugate margin.
To the north, possible reservoirs in Triassic and Jurassic, while Cenozoic fan deposits are more likely in the south. Mature source rocks expected in Late Paleozoic and Mesozoic shales.
Large-scale seismic coverage offshore Greenland, providing valuable insight into the break-up history of this region, and opening of the North Atlantic with the hydrocarbon potential of a true frontier.
