Separated Wavefield Imaging

SWIM uses sea-surface reflections and effectively reduces the source line spacing to that of the streamer spacing. This vastly improves illumination and reduces acquisition footprint issues in shallow water, allowing PGS to deliver high resolution images that are unachievable with traditional reflection methods.

The benefits extend down far enough to infill illumination holes caused by the acquisition footprint at potential reservoir targets. SWIM provides continuous shallow imaging that can reveal drilling risks and allow exploration teams to avoid blow outs or subsidence.
