Velocity Model Building

PGS has developed an integrated toolkit to enable fast and effective velocity model building for all geological scenarios.

The award winning PGS hyperBeam® system combined with the flexibility of the PGS hyperTomo® model building engine enables:

  • Fast-cycle cascaded updating for stable high resolution model building.
  • Flexible model building utilizing a combination of wavelet attribute selection, ray path discrimination and volumetric inversion masking.

Additionally, the PGS toolkit has options to tomographically model build in offset and angle domain, as well as the functionality to simultaneous build models for velocity, anisotropy and Q.

Furthermore, PGS FWI technology utilizes the recorded full wavefield enabling the model builder to progressively add the detail required to resolve complex velocity issues in the overburden.
