Explore the East Shetland Platform for the 29th Offshore Licensing Round.

We present the results of 3D seismic interpretation and well analyses that have been combined to unravel the complex structural history and highlight the exploration potential of this large under-explored region. 

Recent 3D dual-sensor towed streamer broadband surveys cover about 17 500 km2 over parts of the UKCS Quadrants 3, 8-9, 14-16, allowing for improved imaging of the Paleozoic reflectors in this area.

We present the results of the interpretation of recent 2D and 3D seismic datasets over parts of UKCS Quadrants 36, 37, 42 and attempt to unravel both the geology and prospectivity of this frontier area.

This region is a structurally elevated area, partly surrounded by basinal depocentres. These include the mature hydrocarbon provinces of the Central North Sea to the NE and Southern North Sea to the SE. Two recent Dinantian-age discoveries (Breagh/Crosgan) prove that a working pre-Westphalian reservoir is present.
