PGS data targets key blocks for the 2022 Australian license round, which have now been officially released by the Government of Australia. The Browse Basin GeoStreamer PURE dataset covers acreage released in the Caswell sub-basin.

This high-grade dataset allows confident correlation of prospects in the available licenses into discovered fields, and delineation of the abundant prospectivity in the basin to support infrastructure lead exploration (ILX).

The Caswell sub-basin is a production hub for the Ichthys field and there are numerous giant gas discoveries all within tie-back distance. The GeoStreamer data reveals multi-tcf gas discoveries in the release block with further undrilled structures. In addition to the new production licenses, opportunities for farm-in also exist.

“PGS has 18 500 sq. km of contiguous GeoStreamer PURE data for companies interested in pursuing ILX opportunities in this basin. This is a premium product and the availability of Browse Basin GeoStreamer PURE creates a unique opportunity to pick up an asset and develop existing gas discoveries near production infrastructure, as well as pursuing further nearfield exploration," says Tad Choi, Sales and New Ventures Manager at PGS.

The Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage bid round closes March 2023.
