The Republic of Cyprus, represented by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism announced its 3rd licensing round on 24 March 2016. Blocks 06, 08 and 10 of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Republic of Cyprus are available for licensing. Applications must be submitted by 13:00 local time on 22 July 2016.
The new PGS depth processed 2D MultiClient data product over the open blocks complements PGS’ existing PSTM data coverage, while 3D data over neighboring areas provide essential insights into regional prospectivity.
Pre-Stack Depth Migrated data provides particular value in the Eastern Mediterranean, as has been seen in the recent Zohr discovery offshore Egypt, and at Aphrodite in Cyprus Block 12. The PGS imaging team in Cairo has applied the latest processing technology and drawn on their regional expertise to create the new Cyprus 2D PSDM dataset. The results enhance spectral content and resolve the challenges associated with Messinian evaporates.
- 8 000 km of new PSDM imaging covering all three blocks
- Kirchhoff PSDM processing – available May 2016
- Beam PSDM processing – available June 2016
