PGS has moved to a new location in the heart of the oil and gas district downtown Rio, near the Lapa quarter. The office is now 100% operational.

The new PGS office meets the most modern technical standards and marks a new chapter in PGS 20-year history in Brazil. It is a history of advanced technology and innovative commercial ideas designed to reveal the potential of this exciting exploration province, and it includes Brazil’s first 3D seismic acquisitions, the first MultiClient projects and the introduction of broadband technology. Recently we piloted a new source technology and rejuvenated our Santos MultiClient data library with the latest broadband processing, to mitigate exploration risk in the presalt polygon.

Celebrating Rio

Clients and partners joined the PGS Brazil team to celebrate the official office opening on Monday 3rd December, with samba music and a homage to local culture in Rio de Janeiro. General Consul of Norway Mrs. Sissel Steen cut the ribbon for the official opening, which was also attended by Nathan Oliver, EVP Sales and Marketing for PGS.

PGS decided to support a local artist and selected the talented Smael Vagner to decorate the conference room. His take on the topography and energy of his home city adds a touch of fun to the serious business of seismic and inspires us to more innovation of our own.
