Rock Physics - AVO Lessons from the Broadband Seismic Revolution
Progressing from his review of very-low-frequency (VLF) content in broadband seismic data, Andrew Long uses a variety of case study material to showcase how broadband seismic AVO attributes are necessary to realize the full value of rock physics-based workflows. (PGS 2021)
What level of background knowledge is assumed?
Basic knowledge of geological processes and the reflection seismic method is required, but there is no math involved and we’ve tried to cut jargon that can alienate non-specialists. It would nevertheless be useful to have some basic knowledge of Amplitude vs. Offset (AVO) principles as applicable to seismic exploration.
