A Clearer Image
Wide-tow seismic acquisition is popular in the current oil and gas market as it maps areas faster, and time is money. Unfortunately it has severe drawbacks in shallow areas. With separated wavefield imaging it is now possible to enjoy the efficiency of wide-tow in any water depth. Sea-surface reflections are utilized to increase coverage and data density to deliver more accurate images of the subsurface.
GeoStreamer® data has profoundly and uniquely improved the geological understanding at all depth levels of the Browse Basin, from the very deep Permo-Triassic section to the shallow water bottom.
The integrated interpretation of high resolution seismic and EM data is a reliable and effective method to unlock the Barents Sea. This is a region where EM has proven its worth in the past.
