Dan Whitmore reconfigures wave equation reflectivity modeling into a form that is a function of velocity and vector reflectivity. Reflectivity modeling using the velocity model and information recovered from migrated images can then be used to pursue remarkably detailed synthetic modeling without any knowledge of the density model. This has powerful applications to FWI, and may also be useful for adaptive multiple removal.
