Meet PGS at MOC, where our team of experts will be focusing on the upcoming Egypt License Round and supporting our partner EGAS. We will be delighted to talk to you about our newly acquired and processed long-offset GeoStreamer 2D data.
PSDM processing is now available, and this is an ideal starting point for area assessment prior to the anticipated licensing round.
Total PGS seismic coverage for Western Egypt’s Mediterranean amounts to 37 500 km of 2D and 6 000 sq. km of 3D. Around 8 000 km of 2D data provides well and field tie lines that link the prolific Nile Delta to the frontier exploration area further west.
- Reprocessed 3D surveys
- reprocessed legacy 2D seismic data
- new long offset GeoStreamer 2D seismic
- gravity and magnetic data
An integrated interpretation project using reprocessed legacy data together with 2016 GeoStreamer 2D seismic data permitted the identification of a number of geological domains (shelf zone with two distinct south-north trending canyons, a narrow Transform Margin, the Mediterranean Ridge, the Herodotus Basin and the Nile Delta extension).
This comprehensive interpretation study, supported by basin and gravity modeling studies suggests that the elements are in place for a working petroleum system.
Recent data over the Egypt West Mediterranean Sea and Nile delta cone should aid in further understanding the prospectivity, in addition to transferring geological and prospectivity knowledge from the more explored Nile delta towards the domains further towards the west.
