Gabon: Immediate Availability of MegaSurvey to Support Licensing Round

PGS MegaSurvey data and regional interpretation cover most of the 35 blocks on offer for the 12th Gabon Offshore Oil & Gas Exploration Licensing Round. Data products are ready for licensing and packages are available.

The Republic of Gabon has opened its 12th Licensing Round, offering 35 offshore blocks.

Three phases of PGS MegaSurvey 3D and 2D seismic support evaluation of the areas, together with associated regional interpretation over most of these open blocks (see example below).

The Gabon MegaSurvey has been built in partnership with the Gabon DGH. The dataset was compiled over 10 years and consists of over 36 000 sq. km of merged 3D seismic data from 60 individual surveys, together with 6 836 line km of 2D seismic from 182 lines.

Contiguous and Cost-effective Visualization Tool

The surveys have been rebinned to form a contiguous seismic cube, providing a cost-effective tool for regional evaluation and visualization of geology and plays. The PGS MegaSurvey includes eight regional interpreted horizons tied to the available well data.

PGS MegaSurvey data covers the majority of the available blocks, allowing an assessment of prospectivity and play potential. This dataset is an essential foundation to support successful bid applications.
