The new data permits delineation of plays above salt, provides improved imaging of known subsalt fields and potential new nearfield discoveries, and offers 3D insights to enable mapping of shallow gas hazards.
The play fairways imaged by the Flex Vision data include the Miocene play fairways at Mahogany and Hickory and younger supra salt plays. Salt/sediment relationships and structural traps with deeper potential in the Lower Tertiary are also more accurately imaged.
A high-definition FWI-driven velocity model has been created from the newly pre-processed input data to provide development-grade detail, this is combined with high-frequency Kirchhoff and RTM imaging to reveal subsalt reservoirs.
